WORKINGMAN'S DEAD
 - A Celebration of the Grateful Dead with Fadi Dorninger

In the ZKM I saw a huge loudspeaker, a snippet of PA-sound system. For the visitors of the museum it seemed to be an intimidation, an assault, a focused force. The installation left me completely cold because I knew the center cluster of the Grateful Dead-Sound-System (Picture: Robert Pechner).

And whilst thinking about Country, I am not thinking about Nashville, truckers and schmaltz, but about "Workingman's Dead" by the Grateful Dead. When people rail about the musicbiz, I say: "Just do it like the Grateful Dead."

If you want to know answers about one of the most successfull bands of all time, than swing by in the pulsating worlds of "Aoxomoxoa", "American Beauty" and the social networks of the  "Dead Heads".

"Wolfgang "Fadi" Dorninger reports at the harbourside Labs at Times Up what all about  Grateful Dead is so "dead".

Lecture (in German) with music and a Dorninger "deadhead"-mix.
