Building Storyworlds for Future Fabulations
Future Fabulators aims to create fictional spaces through storytelling and fabulation, in order to provide frameworks for exploring scenarios of possible futures, how they will be and how we will live within them.
Creating speculative visions of the future is a form of identifying possible scenarios of social development and exploring potential consequences on everyday life. By integrating a range of ideas and themes about changes on working practices, migration, demography, etc., the project imagines multiple and open visions of Europe’s future.
During our first scenario session we created several possible scenarios which were circling the question "How fear will have developed in 2033". Four scenarios have been fabulated, and then tiny sketches created in them. The sketches ranged from a single person narrative through a university commercial to a historical sketch from the future perspective.
