Malta, MT
Only a few days after Changeist is exploring a Post-Citizenship Future, The Extrapolation Factory will host a second futuring exercise focussing on speculated special programs supported by the European Union.
This exercise, again part of Presents of the Future, hence part of the cultural program of the 2017 Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union with the support of Arts Council Malta and the Valletta 2018 Foundation, invites the Maltese population to be part in a workshop designed to imagine possible futures for Malta and Europe.
The Extrapolation Factory will run a multi-day speculative visioning event, and invites the participnts to serve on the “Panel for Special Programmes.” This initiative allows EU residents to suggest new prototype programmes to the EU, to be conveyed as a promotional video.
This rare opportunity will provide you the chance to design alternative paths for the EU, guided by future-visioning strategists from The Extrapolation Factory.
Your story will be told through short films which will be seen by residents, influential stakeholders, and European decision makers.
About Extrapolation Factory:
The Extrapolation Factory is an imagination-based studio for design-led futures studies, founded by Elliott P. Montgomery and Chris Woebken. The studio develops experimental methods for collaboratively prototyping, experiencing and impacting future scenarios. Central to these methods is the creation of hypothetical future props and their deployment in familiar contexts such as 99¢ stores, science museums, vending machines and city sidewalks. With this work, the studio is exploring the value of democratized futures studies by rapidly imagining, prototyping, deploying and evaluating visions of possible futures on an extended time scale.
