Three Research modalities: for, with and in Experimental Situations
In this talk we will survey several of the environments and systems that Time's Up has designed, implemented and exhibited over the past few years. We will focus the discussion with an eye on the question of how this informs and reflects upon a research practice based upon various forms of aesthetics. There are three major modes of research in the works: the research leading up to the design and construction of the systems, that which arises from the use of the systems and, possibly most important, the investigation of the worlds that are thus created by the audience themselves in a form of protoscientific behaviour (Fischer).
