A discussion between Andrei Smirnov and Tim Boykett about notation, improvisation and visual music
Tim Boykett and Andrei Smirnov, from the Lev Termin center in Moscow, discuss the early visual music productions from the 1920s and 30s and compare them with the contemporary developments with visual sound programming languages. One of the problems has to do with notation: what are the compressed forms that musicians use to describe these works without needing to present the entirety.
